Activists march to protest genetically modified food

More than 200,000 people across 40 countries including the United States took part in the March Against Monsanto protests. In fact, hundreds gathered in Traverse City's open space.

The topic of  "genetically modified food" aka GMO, has become a seriously hot issue. The U.S. is fighting tooth and nail to keep it off the labeling, companies like Monsanto have the FDA by the proverbial nuts. Why and how? Who knows! I'm sure it's one of those completely twisted things dealing with national security, or some other faceless power.

In any case, far too much of the food we buy off the shelf has been genetically altered. We eat enough of it, then we begin to be genetically altered.  We pass that on to our offspring, etc etc etc. Ever see the "X-Files"?  That's what I'm talking about.

How to eat a pomegranate!

When I was at the grocery store I bought a couple of pomegranates.  I'd never eaten them raw before, but I knew it would be good. So I washed one, and cut it open.  It looks like a honey comb inside but filled with berries. BTW, don't try to eat one of these while your at the computer like I am. Those little berries have a slightly hard shell that makes them bounce everywhere. I'm probably gonna have strains on my carpet 8:(.

Anyhow these things are really good. I was curious about just how to eat this, like do you eat it like an apple or peel it like an orange.  Not quite either one.  The video will give you a good idea of how to break this puppy open and have a good snack.

Enjoy!
