More than 200,000 people across 40 countries including the United States took part in the March Against Monsanto protests. In fact, hundreds gathered in Traverse City's open space.
The topic of "genetically modified food" aka GMO, has become a seriously hot issue. The U.S. is fighting tooth and nail to keep it off the labeling, companies like Monsanto have the FDA by the proverbial nuts. Why and how? Who knows! I'm sure it's one of those completely twisted things dealing with national security, or some other faceless power.
In any case, far too much of the food we buy off the shelf has been genetically altered. We eat enough of it, then we begin to be genetically altered. We pass that on to our offspring, etc etc etc. Ever see the "X-Files"? That's what I'm talking about.
